von Stiehl Winery

The road less traveled leads to the von Stiehl Winery in Algoma. This, the oldest licensed Wisconsin winery, was founded by Dr. Charles Stiehl when he created the idea of Door County Montmorency Cherry wine in 1967. Now specializing in many grape varieties, the third generation, family-owned business carries on the former Doctor's traditions and dreams.
Tour arched limestone caverns that date back to the Civil War era. Taste over 30 varieties of carefully produced, Double Gold, Gold, and Silver medal winning wines. Visit where the production of excellent wine and catering to your needs are top priorities. Open seven days a week, year-round. Tours May through October. Tasting only November through April.
